Eligibility Criteria for Maharashtra Post Office Recruitment 2021
- Interested candidates who are applying for Maharashtra Post Office Recruitment 2021 must ensure that they hold the eligibility criteria before signing in to the online application portal. The eligibility conditions are given below:
- The candidate must be:
- a Citizen of India, or
- a Citizen of Nepal, or
- a Citizen of Bhutan, or
- a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
- a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
- It must be noted that the candidates belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) must be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Educational Qualification
Postal and Sorting Assistant
- The candidate must have passed the 12th standard or equivalent from a recognized University/Board of School Education/Board of Secondary Education.
- The candidates with higher education can also apply but they must have the above qualification.
- The candidate must have a Certificate of Basic Computer Training from a recognized Computer Training Institute before the issuance of the appointment letter. Computer Training Certificates from Central Government/State Government/University /Boards etc. will also be acceptable for this purpose.
Postman/Mail Guard
- The candidate must have passed the 12th standard or equivalent from a recognized University/Board of School Education/Board of Secondary Education.
- The candidates with higher education can also apply but they must have the above qualification.
- The candidate must have a Certificate of Basic Computer Training from a recognized Computer Training Institute before the issuance of the appointment letter. Computer Training Certificates from Central Government/State Government/University /Boards etc. will also be acceptable for this purpose.
- The candidate must have knowledge of the local language (Marathi and Konkani) and should have passed Marathi or Konkani papers up to the 10th standard.
- A Valid Driving License for a two-wheeler or light vehicle. Physically handicapped persons are exempted from the possession of a license.
MTS
- The candidate must have passed the 12th standard or equivalent from a recognized University/Board of School Education/Board of Secondary Education.
- The candidates with higher education can also apply but they must have the above qualification.
- The candidate should have knowledge of working on a computer.
- The candidate must have knowledge of the local language (Marathi and Konkani) and should have passed Marathi or Konkani papers up to the 10th standard.
Age Limit
- Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant/Postman/PA (CO/RO/SBCO) – 18 to 27 years
- MTS – 18 to 25 years
AP/MH Postal Circle Sports Qualification
- Sportsmen who have represented a State or the country in the National or International competition in Sports/ games
- Sportsmen who have represented their university in the Inter University Toumaments conducted by the Inter University Sports Board in the sports / Games
- Sportsmen who have represented the State School teams in the National Sports/ Games for schools conducted by the All the India School Games Federation in the Sports / Games.
- Sportsmen who have been awarded National Awards in Physical Efficiency under the National Physical Efficiency Drive
Maharashtra Post Office Postman Selection Process
- Maharashtra Post Office has invited applications from meritorious sportspersons for the post of Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant, Postman and MTS as per the notification released on the official website. The selection process is as follows:
- Sportspersons who have represented the country on the International Level with clearance of the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports.
- Candidates who have represented their State/UT in Senior/Junior Level National Championship by different Sports Federations and won medals up to the third place.
- Candidates who have won Inter-University Competitions and won medals up to the third place.
- Candidates who have participated in the State School Sport competitions and won medals up to the third place.
- Candidates who have been awarded National Award in Physical Efficiency under National Physical Efficiency Drive.
- Candidates who have participated in International/State/UT/Inter-University/School but could not win any medals in the same order of preference.
- In case of a tie, the following rules must be taken into consideration:
- Candidates who have won more medals or secured a higher position.
- Candidates who are older in age will be placed higher.
- If the tie still persists, the name of the candidate in alphabetical order will be followed.

How to Apply?
- Eligible candidates can apply online on or before 27 November 2021 at the registration portal i.e. https://dopsportsrecruitment.in in three steps:
- Registration: Candidates need to register themselves in online before proceeding to fill the application
- Online Application Submission: They will be required to submit their sports details, educational and other documents and select the circle.
- Candidates will be required to apply separately for each postal circle against notification issued for Sports Quota Recruitment based on their eligibility conditions
Payment of Fee
- Candidate has to credit Rs.200/- through online payment in the website under Fee payment option or in any of the Head Post Offices in India for crediting through GDS fee portal specifying “Direct Recruitment of sports quota for Maharastra Circle by producing Registration Number.
- AP/MH Postal Circle Application Fee: Women, Transgender Woman Candidate, SC/ST – No Fee
- Other – 200/-
Maharashtra Post Office Salary Details
- The candidates will be called for document verification and the selected candidates will be placed under 2 years of Probation Period and the training period will be set as per the rules. The salary of Postal/Sorting Assistant, Postman/Mail Guard and MTS is as follows:
- Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant/PA (CO/RO/SBCO) – Rs. 25500 to Rs. 81100
- Postman – Rs. 21700 to Rs. 69100
- MTS – Rs. 18000 to Rs. 56900
