Educational Qualification
Skills / Eligibility
- Online applications are invited by Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) from the candidates having qualification of Graduation in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Signal & Telecommunications) or Diploma in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering who have passed out during 2019, 2020 & 2021 for enrollment as Graduate Apprentices or Technician (Diploma) Apprentices for undergoing one year Apprenticeship training under the Apprenticeship (Amendment) Act 1973 for the following training slots
- Candidates belonging to the districts of KRCL jurisdiction in states of Maharashtra, Goa and Karnataka will be given preference.
Minimum Educational Qualification
- Category-I Graduate Apprentices: The candidate must have passed full time regular B.E in the listed fields from recognized Board/University.
- Category-II Technician (Diploma) Apprentices: The candidate must have passed full time regular Diploma in the listed fields from State Board of Technical Education/Recognized Board/University. For both the above categories, the total maximum marks and total marks obtained for all years/semesters will be summed up to arrive at an aggregate percentage. No rounding off will be done and no weightage will be given to any particular semester/year
- BE (Electrical): Four years bachelor degree in i)Electrical/Electronics & Power Engineering or ii)Combination of any sub stream of Basics streams of Electrical from recognized University/Institute approved by AICTE.
- BE (Mechanical): Four years Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical /Industrial / Automobile /Production Engineering from a Recognized University /Institute approved by AICTE.
- BE (S&T): Four Years Bachelor’s Degree in i) Electrical/Electronics/Information technology/Communication Engineering/ Computer Science & Engineering / Computer Science/ Computer engineering or MSC electronics Or ii) a combination of any sub stream of basic streams of Electrical/ Electronics/Information Technology/Communication engineering from recognized University /Institute approved by AICTE.
- BE (Civil): Four years Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from recognized University /Institute approved by AICTE.
- Diploma (Civil): Full time regular Diploma in Civil Engineering from university/Institute recognized by AICTE.
- Diploma (Electrical): Full time regular Diploma in Electrical/ Electronics & Power Engineering or a combination of any sub stream of basic streams of Electrical/ Electronic from recognized university/ Institute.
Stipend
- Stipend shall be payable as per following:- For Graduate Apprentices – Rs.4984/-p.m. For Technician (Diploma) Apprentices – Rs.3542/- pm
- The candidate is not eligible for any TA/DA/Boarding or Lodging expenses incurred during the period of training. KRCL will not provide any financial assistance towards transportation.
Age Limit
- 18-25 years as on 01.10.2021 (DOB between 01.10.1994 to 01.10.2003). There will be upper age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC-NCL candidates.

KRCL Trainee Apprentices Selection Procedure
- The candidates will be selected for training on the basis of merit list prepared in respect of all the candidates who apply against the Notification. The merit list will be prepared based on the percentage of marks obtained at the time of acquiring of BE or Diploma in relevant field.
- The panel will be on the basis of aggregate percentage of marks obtained at the time of acquiring BE or Diploma in relevant field.
- In case of two candidates having the same marks, the candidates with older age shall be preferred. In case the dates of birth are also same, then the candidate who passed matriculation exam earlier shall be considered first.
- Candidates equaling to 1.5 times the no. of seats notified shall be called for document verification.
- Land loser candidates, i.e. those land losers candidates who have lost their land for the Konkan Railway Project shall be given preference in selection for apprenticeship training. The definition of land loser candidate is as under: “Whose land was acquired for Konkan Railway Project irrespective of the percentage of land lost such person himself/herself, his/her spouse (wife/husband), son, daughter, grandson, grand daughter only are eligible”
- Eligibility of the candidates will be considered only on the strength of the information furnished in the application. If at any stage, it is found that any information furnished by the candidate in his/her application is false/incorrect or the candidate has suppressed any relevant information or the candidate does not satisfy the eligibility criteria for the post, his/her candidature will be rejected forthwith.
- Candidates shortlisted will be called for DV and are required to produce all original documents along with two sets of self attested photo copies of all documents at the time of DV
KRCL Trainee Apprentices Recruitment 2021 Application Procedure
How to Apply?
- Candidates should see the details of notification, eligibility criteria on KRCL website –https://konkanrailway.com/ under Quick Links → Engagement of Trainee Apprentices under Apprenticeship (Amendment) Act, 1973 and apply on or before 22/11/2021.
- Candidate shall fill in application only through the link provided on the official website of KRCL.
- The candidates shall have to apply online on https://konkanrailway.com/ under the Quick Links → Engagement of Trainee Apprentices under Apprenticeship (Amendment) Act, 1973
- Registration with Apprenticeship Portal: Candidates are required to register themselves on online with the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme portal at mhrdnats.gov.in or any other relevant portal for the same. Candidates without a valid approved NATS ID will be rejected at the time of document verification.
- Read all the information and instructions detailed in the notification thoroughly before starting the filling up of the application. It is essential that the candidate understands all information of the notification correctly to prevent any mistakes while filling application
- Candidates should ensure that they possess/fulfill all eligibility conditions prescribed for the training as on the closing date for submitting application.
- Candidate has to register his candidature in order to start with. A registration number will be generated. This registration number will be sent to the candidates through registered mobile no. and email ID.
- Once the registration is done he/she needs to fill in all the necessary information and submit the application form.
- Application form needs to be filled in carefully. Candidates should enter their name, father’s name and date of birth as recorded in the Matriculation/SSC/High school examination certificate or an equivalent certificate ONLY.
- In case of name change, candidates should indicate their changed name only in the application. However other details should match with the Matriculation or equivalent certificate. Date of such change (Or) application for such change should be prior to the date of submission of the application. Gazette Notification or any other legal document as applicable for such cases should be submitted at the time of DV.
- Candidates should have their personal email id and keep them active for the entire duration of enrollment for training as KRCL shall send all communications only through email till the process is completely over. KRCL will not entertain any request for change of mobile number and e-mail address at any stage.
- Candidates shortlisted will be called for DV and are required to produce all original documents along with two sets of self attested photo copies of all documents at the time of DV.
- The onus is on the candidates to prove with valid documents that all the information submitted by them in the application are true.
- Candidates are advised to note and preserve their Registration Number for further stages of recruitment process / correspondence with KRCL.
- No daily allowance / conveyance allowance or traveling allowance will be paid to the candidates called for document verification.
- Selection of the candidate for training shall be canceled if he/she fails to produce the required original testimonials for verification or any other discrepancy noticed.
- If it is noticed by the KRCL administration that the candidate has furnished wrong/fake Certificates / false certificates, the Konkan Railway administration reserves the right to terminate the contract of training entered with the candidate under NATS scheme.
Document Required
- The following documents have to be uploaded while applying online:
- Photo and Signature is mandatory for all candidates.
- For claiming reservation, attested copy of caste certificate in the format required for Central Government Employment as enclosed (in case of SC/ST/ OBC).
- In case of landloser candidate, attested Land loser certificate in prescribed format as enclosed and Tehsildar certificate in prescribed format as enclosed.
- Income certificate issued by Tehsildar for waiving processing fee for Economically Weaker Section.
- Minority community declaration on non-judicial stamp paper enclosed as Annexure in the press notification.
Required Documents to be furnished in original during Document Verification
- Mark sheets of all the semesters along with Degree/Diploma certificate.
- Proof of date of birth.
- SSC/HSC certificate.
- In case of landloser candidate, attested Land loser certificate issued by SLAO in prescribed format as enclosed
- In case of landloser candidate, attested Tehsildar certificate in prescribed format as enclosed.
- Attested photocopy of RTC document of land (7/12, form No. XIV, etc.) pertaining to the year of acquisition of land by KRCL (document of recent date not acceptable). g. Proof of relationship with land loser (if applicable).
- In case of death of landloser (whose name figures in SLAO and Tahsildar certificate), legal heir certificate and death certificate of landloser to be produced.
- Attested copy of caste certificate in the format required for Central Government Employment as enclosed (in case of SC/ST/OBC).
- OBC- NCL (Non-creamy Layer) certificate issued by Tehsildar as per format indicated in the in the press notification.
- Income certificate issued by Tehsildar for waiving processing fee for Economically Weaker Section.
- Minority community declaration on non-judicial stamp paper enclosed as Annexure in the press notification.
- Domicile certificate.
- Gazette notification and/or any legal document in case of formal change of name.
- Two attested passport size photographs.
- Aadhar and PAN card.
- Candidates without a valid approved NATS ID will be rejected at the time of document verification.
