Eligibility Criteria for Meghalaya Police Recruitment 2019
- The two important parameters that applicants have to possess in order to eligible for Meghalaya Police Recruitment 2019 are as follows:
Age Limit
- The age criteria of the applicants should be as follows:
- For UB SI (Male & Female) and SF 10 ABSI (Male): 21 to 27 years
- Follower (Male) (AB/ UB Group and SF 10 Group): 18 to 27 years
- For Constable Posts: 18 to 21 years
Educational Qualification
- The educational qualifications will be different for different posts provided as follows:
- For UB SI (Male and Female) and SF 10 ABSI (Male) Posts: Completed degree (Graduation) in any stream
- For Unarmed Branch Constable/ Fireman/ Driver FM (Male)/ MPRO Operator & Signal Operator (SF 10): Passed 12th class
- Armed Branch Constable/ Battalion Constable, Driver Constables (Male): Passed 9th class
- For Commando/ Constable Operator (Male and Female): Passed 10th class
- For Follower (Male) (AB/UB Group and SF-10 Group): Passed 5th class
- Candidates applying for driver posts are required to possess an HMV/LMV driving license
Selection Process
- Selection will be done on the basis of Physical Efficiency Test, Written Exam and Interview. Trade test will be conducted in place of written test for the post of Follower.

Meghalaya Police Recruitment 2019 Exam Pattern
The Meghalaya Police Exam Pattern 2019-20 for various posts is as follows:
AB & UB GROUP
For UB SI Posts:
- The exam comprises of three papers
- Paper-I consisting of General English including Precise Writing, Essay Writing, Drafting, and English Grammer (Matriculation standard)
- The paper-I is for 150 marks
- The duration of the exam is 90 minutes
- Paper-II consists of Elementary Mathematics, Reasoning and Basic Science (Matriculation standard)
- The Paper-II is for 50 marks to be completed in 30 minutes
- Paper-III consists of General Knowlege (based mainly on Meghalaya) of 100 marks
- Total: 300 marks to be completed in 60 minutes
UB Constable and other UB Posts:
- The exam consists of three papers i.e, English Grammer and Usage, Arithmetic/ Elementary Science, General Knowlege
- Each paper carries 100 marks
- Total: 300 marks
AB/UB Group – UB SI/ UB Category for the recruitment of UB constables, Fireman, Driver fireman, and MPRO Operator:
- Physical Efficiency Test: 100 marks
- Written Examination: 300 marks
- Interview: 50 marks
- Total: 450 marks
AB category for the recruitment of AB constables, Battalion constables, and Driver constables:
- Physical Efficiency Test: 250 marks
- Written Examination: 150 marks
- Interview: 50 marks
- Total: 450 marks
For AB constables and other AB posts:
- It consists of only one paper comprising Basic Knowledge of English, Basic Arithmetic and Basic General Awareness
- This paper will be of objective type / OMR based
- Total: 150 marks
SF10 GROUP
For SF10 ABSI posts:
- The exam comprises of three papers
- Paper-I consisting of General English including Precise Writing, Essay Writing, Drafting, and English Grammer (Matriculation standard)
- Paper-I is for 75 marks to be completed in 120 minutes
- Paper-II consists of Elementary Mathematics, Reasoning and Basic Science (Matriculation standard) (multiple choice/ OMR based)
- The Paper-II is for 50 marks to be completed in 60 minutes
- Paper-III consists of General Knowlege (based mainly on Meghalaya)
- It is for 75 marks to be completed in 75 minutes
For SF10 Commando and other SF10 posts:
- It consists of only one paper comprising Test of Elementary Knowledge of English, Basic Arithmetic and Basic General Awareness
- This paper will be of objective type / OMR based
- Total 200 marks to be completed in 60 minutes
SF 10 Group – SF10 ABSI/ SF10 Commando and Signal Operator:
- Physical Efficiency Test: 200 marks
- Written Examination: 200 marks
- Interview: 50 marks
- Total: 450 marks
FOLLOWER GROUP:
- Trade Test for followers of SF10/AB/UB:
- There is no written test for followers. However, a trade test of 150 marks will be conducted on three categories which include Cook, Barber, Sweeper.
Follower Group (AB/UB and SF10):
- Physical Efficiency Test: 250 marks
- Written Examination: 150 marks
- Interview: 50 marks
- Total: 450 marks
