JK SET 2022 – The official notification for JK SET 2021-2022 is now available at the website. The application process for Jammu and Kashmir State Eligibility Test (JKSET) is going to start on December 20, 2021.
Jammu and Kashmir State Eligibility Test (JKSET) is an eligibility exam that is conducted each year to shortlist eligible candidates for the post of Assistant Professors in Several Colleges and the Universities of Jammu and Kashmir. The conducting body of the JK SET Exam is the University of Kashmir.

JK SET 2022 Eligibility Criteria
- The eligibility criteria are essential norms for any examination. For the JK SET 2021-2022 exam the eligibility criteria are set up by the conducting body, the University of Kashmir
Norm 1 – Academic Requirement
- Candidates should have completed their Undergraduate exams from a recognized university.
- The Ph.D. candidates receive a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e. from 55% to 50%)in masters for appearing in JKSET.
- Can get a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e. from 55% to 50%)in masters for appearing in JKSET.
- The candidates should appear for the subject of their post-graduation only.
- The general category candidates have to secure at least 55% marks (without rounding off) and reserved category candidates have to secure 50% marks in their last qualifying exams.
- Candidates appearing or have appeared for the Master’s degree examination can also apply for this Test.
Norm 2 – Exemption from the test
- Candidates qualified in the NET/SLET/UGC/CSIR JRF exams are exempted from the SET 2021- 2022 exam.
Age Limit & Relaxation
- There is no upper age limit for applying for JKSET/LASET

How to Apply?
- Before submission of the “Online Application Form”, candidate should read this notification and Information Bulletin carefully
- All the notifications regarding the test including the result of the JKSET/LASET will be made available on the JKSET-LASET/ University of Jammu Website jammuuniversity.ac.in
- Candidates will not be individually intimated about different notifications including acceptance of forms, Centre notice, availability of Admit Cards and results etc. Candidates in their own interest should regularly check the official website for all information/updates
- Candidates of other States except UT of J & K and Ladakh, belonging to Reserved Categories, however, shall be treated as Open/General Category.
Submission of Online Application Forms
- The candidates are advised to follow the following five simple steps for filling their OnLine Application Forms
- Step-I: Visit the University of Jammu Website jammuuniversity.ac.in, click on Link JKSET/LASET. Read important Instructions for Online submission of forms carefully before proceeding further.
- Step-II: Pay Examination Fee online using Payment Gateway(s) using Credit card/Debit card/Net banking.** & Print Fee Receipt. Please note the reference number for registering yourself for filling up the application form.
- Step-III: Register yourself using the Payment Reference Number and note down the password. Select the UT for which you are applying and Upload your recent Photograph and Signature. The photograph must be a recent photograph (in jpg/jpeg file, size less than 50Kb) either in colour or black & white with 80% face (without mask) visible including ears against white background. Scan copy of the Candidate’s signature in jpg/ jpeg file (file size: less than 50kb).
- Step-IV: Complete the Online Application Form giving all the correct information. Fill up the required fields in the form with relevant information. Candidates must clearly mention the category – GENRAL/ SC/ST/ EWS/RBA/ PWD/ WUP/ ALC/IB/ PSP etc to which they belong. Fill up your Personal, Contact, Academic details, Government Id Card No*** and choices of Centre and subjects for JKSET/LASET in the Application form correctly. Note down the system generated Application Number for future use.
- Preview the Form displayed on the screen. If details are correct, click on Submit. If there is any variation, make corrections and then Submit
- Please note that the Government Id Card No given will be verified at the entry of the examination hall.
- Step–V: Take the print out of the application form and keep it for future use
- In case the status of Application is not updated to “Accepted” or fee reconciliation is pending, the candidate should contact the Helpline Desk (email id. [email protected]) at J&K SET Office, University of Jammu, Jammu along with Application Form, Fee Receipt, and all other documents, within three days after the last date of submission of Application Forms. Thereafter, no claim, whatsoever, will be entertained by the University.
Document Required
- Submission of downloaded Application Forms & Documents (Hard copy):
- There is no need to submit hard copy of the downloaded Application Form in the SET office before the examination. However, all the candidates must keep it along with proof of fee with them for future reference. Only the qualified candidates shall have to submit the copy of the downloaded forms along with related documents.
- Immediately after the result declaration, the candidates who qualify the JKSET/LASET
- Examination shall have to submit following documents for physical verification (as per scheduled to be notified separately):
- Print out of the Application Form
- Fee Receipt
- Admit Card
- Attested copies of class 10th Certificate/Mark sheet, PG Mark sheet, Domicile Certificate (to be verified with the Originals)
- Attested Copies of Reserve Category Certificate (to be verified with the Originals)
- The qualified candidates shall be issued SET Certificates only after the physical verification of their Eligibility and Category related documents/Certificates. In case of detection of the false declaration of Reserve Category at the time of Application, the candidature of the such candidates will be cancelled and they can be debarred from appearing in next three JKSET/LASET
Application Fees
- Candidates must have to pay the following amount as the application fee for JK SET:
- General Category – Rs.1100/-
- OBC-NCL and Other Reserved Category – Rs.880/-
- SC/ST/Transgender/PwD with 40% Disability – Rs.660/-
Mode of Payment
- Candidate has to pay Exam Fee through Online Mode using the Payment Gateway(s) integrated to the Online Application by Credit Card/Debit Card/Net banking. Follow on screen instructions for payment of requisite fee.
- Please note that fee submitted by any other mode like money order, demand draft, IPO etc
JK SET 2022 Exam Pattern
- The Test will be held on 15th May 2022 (Sunday)
- Mode of the Exam: Offline exam (OMR based)
- Number of Papers: 3
- Type of Question: Objective Type Questions
- Marking Scheme: +2 marks for each correct answer and no mark deduction applies for incorrect answers
- Qualifying Marks: 40% marks in paper I, paper II and paper III separately
- Scheme of exam elaborates the basic details and question paper formation for an exam. The exam pattern with the marking scheme for the JK SET 2021-22 exam is given below:

Centers of Exam
- There shall be three Examination centers for candidates of the respective divisions

JK SET 2022 Admit Card
- After the successful completion of the JK SET application procedure, the University of Kashmir releases the admit card for the same online at their official website uok.edu.in
- Candidates can download their admit cards through the JK SET roll number and password
JK SET 2022 Counseling
- Once the results of JKSET are declared, the candidates securing the examination are eligible to appear for the counseling.
- Candidates should carry all the necessary documents like educational degrees, address proof, valid ID proof, etc. which will be required as a part of the document verification process.
- Candidates are mandated to be present at the dates assigned to them for counseling.
- Failing to do so would result in rejection on the merit list.
- The counseling dates will be updated on the official website.
