INET 2021 Indian Navy Entrance Test – Indian Navy has been invited application from Unmarried Male/Female Candidates for Short Service Commission (SSC) Officer Posts in Education, Technical and Education Branch through Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET) in Various Entries, January 2021 Course. Eligible candidates can apply for the posts through official website from 29th November to 19th December 2019. A total of 144 posts are invited for Pilot/ Observer /Air Traffic Controller/Naval Armament Inspectorate Cadre/ Logistics/ Education/ Information Technology / Technical (Engineering & Electrical). - Applicants are to register and fill application on Indian Navy Website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in
- The candidates can apply from 29th November 2019 onwards. Online (e-application). Whilst filling up the e-application, it is advisable to keep the relevant documents readily available to enable the following:
- Correct filling up of personal particulars. Details are to be filled up as given in the Matriculation Certificate. Fields such as e-mail address, mobile number are mandatory fields and need to be filled.
- All relevant documents (preferably in original), marks sheets upto 05th & 07th semester for regular and integrated B.E. /B.Tech courses & other degree exam respectively, date of birth proof (as per 10th & 12th certificate), CGPA conversion formula for BE/B.Tech, Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) issued by DGCA, Govt. of India, and a recent passport size colour photograph should be scanned in original JPG/FITT format, for attaching the same while filling up the application.
- If any scanned document is not legible/readable for any reason the application will be rejected. Candidates are to take print out of application and carry it while appearing for INET or SSB interview.

- SSC Pilot (MR): BE/B.Tech in any discipline from AICTE recognized institute / university with minimum 60% marks. (Candidate must have 60% aggregate marks in class X and XII and minimum 60% marks in English in class X or class XII).
- SSC Pilot (Other than MR): BE/B.Tech in any discipline from AICTE recognized institute / university with minimum 60% marks. (Candidate must have 60% aggregate marks in class X and XII and minimum 60% marks in English in class X or class XII).
- SSC Logistics: BE/B.Tech in any discipline with First Class from AICTE recognized institute / university or MBA with First Class or B.Sc / B.Com / B.Sc.(IT) with First class with a PG Diploma in Finance / Logistics / Supply Chain Management / Material Management or MCA / M.Sc (IT) with First Class.
- SSC X (IT): BE/B.Tech from AICTE recognized institute / university with minimum 60% marks in Computer Science / Computer Engg/IT (ii) B Sc (IT) with First Class (iii) M.Sc (Computer / IT) with First Class (iv) M.Tech (Computer Science) with First Class (v) MCA with First Class.

Medical Standards
- All candidates recommended by SSB will have to undergo medicals as per extant regulation. There is no relaxation in medical standard on any ground.
- Relaxation in Height and Weight. Relaxations in height is permissible to candidates holding domicile of specific regions details of which are available on Indian Navy website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in
- Selected candidates are inducted as Sub-lieutenants. The admissible pay & allowances alongwith other facilities & privileges are available on Indian Navy website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in
- Group Insurance & Gratuity. A basic insurance cover of Rs. One Crore (on contribution) and gratuity will be granted to the officer as per extant rules in force.
INET 2021 Selection Procedure
- The selection procedure is as follows:
a) INET
- Exam Centre: All candidates, whose applications are received by due date, will be called or Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET) to be conducted in Feb 20 at one of the INET centres as per their choice, subject to availability of slots at that centre. Call up letters cum Admit Card for online exam indicating date, time and place, which is scheduled during February 2020 would be required to be downloaded from the official website tentatively by last week of January 2020.
- INET Syllabus: INET exam will be of two hours duration. It will contain 100 Multiple Choice Questions comprising Questions on English, Reasoning & Numerical Ability, General Science, Mathematical Aptitude & General Knowledge. Each section will be of 100 marks with negative marking of one mark for incorrect answer.
b) Shortlisting for SSB
- Shortlisting for SSB. IHQ of MoD (N) reserves the right to shortlist candidates strictly on the basis of INET rank cum preference & choice. However, candidates are required to qualify in all sections of INET Exam to be considered for shortlisting to appear in SSB interview.
- SSB interviews for short-listed candidates will be tentatively scheduled from Apr 20 at Bangalore for pilot & observer candidates and at (i) Bangalore, (ii) Bhopal (iii) Coimbatore (iv) Visakhapatnam and (v) Kolkata for other branches/entries.
- Shortlisted candidates will be informed about their selection for SSB interview on their e-mail or through SMS (provided by candidates in their application form).
c) SSB Procedure
- SSB interview will be conducted in two stages. Candidates who clear Stage I will go to Stage II. Those who fail in Stage I will be sent back on the same date. Details of SSB procedure are available on Indian Navy website.
d) Medical
- SSB recommended candidates are required to undergo medical exam as applicable to their entry. Candidates of Pilot entry are required to undergo PABT (Pilot aptitude battery test) followed by Aviation medical exam.
Examination Fees
- Candidates (SC/ST/Women candidates are exempted from payment of fees) are required to pay a fee of Rs.215/- through online mode.
- Admit card will be issued for the examination only to those candidates who have successfully paid the examination fee and who are entitled to waiver of examination fee.
INET Exam Syllabus 2021
Section 1 – English (25 Marks)
Comprehension, Usage of Words, Sentence completion / Corrections, Punctuations, Grammar, Vocabulary, Antonyms and Synonyms, Parts of Speech, Direct and Indirect Speech, Idioms and Phrases, Active and Passive Voice.etc (Question paper will be designed to test the candidates’ understanding of English and workmanlike use of Grammar)
Section 2 –Reasoning and Numerical Ability (25 Marks)
Spatial, Numerical, Reasoning and Associative Ability, Sequences, Spellings, Unscrambling, Coding and Decoding, Missing Numbers / Series Completion, Decimal Fraction, Ratios and Proportion, Average and Volume, Time and Work, Speed and Distance, Market Price, Cash Price, Expenditure Problems, Profit and Loss, Percentage, Factoring (LCM and HCF), Simple Interest and Compound Interest, Mensuration Formulas (Calculation of length, breadth or height of square, rectangle, cube etc)
Section 3 – General Science and Mathematical Aptitude (25 Marks)
Nature of Matter, Universe, Electricity and its Applications, Force and Gravitation, Newton’s Laws of Motion, Work, Energy and Power, Heat, Temperature, Light, Current, Magnetism, Metals and Non Metals, Measurements, Sound and Wave Motion, Atomic Structure, Chemistry – Carbon and its Compounds, Periodic Table, Acids, Bases & Salts, Food, Nutrition and Health Physiology and Human Diseases and Basic Computer Science
Arithmetic Ability, Number Systems, Algebra, Basic Trigonometry, Geometry, Statistics, Probability and Set Theory.
Section 4 – General Knowledge (25 Marks)
History of India, Geography, Climate / Environment, Civics – Constitution of India, Art, Culture, Dance, Heritage, Religion, Freedom Movement, Important National Facts, Economics, Politics, Sports and Championships, Entertainment, Books and Authors, Awards, Defence and Wars, Geographical Neighbours, Countries – Languages, Capitals, Currencies, Common Name, Full Forms, Abbreviations, Eminent Personalities, National – Bird/ Animal/ Monuments/ Flower/ Anthem/ Sport/ Flag/ Emblem etc, Discoveries and Current Affairs.
