SSC JHT Recruitment 2020 – The Staff Selection Commission (SSC), under Govt. of India, has released an advertisement, invited online applications from eligible and interested Indian citizens for filling 283 vacancies to post of Junior Hindi Translators, Junior Translators and Senior Hindi Translators (Group ‘B’ Non-Gazetted) through direct recruitment.

कर्मचारी चयन आयोग (SSC), सरकार के अधीन। भारत ने, सीधी भर्ती के माध्यम से जूनियर हिंदी ट्रांसलेटर, जूनियर ट्रांसलेटर और सीनियर हिंदी ट्रांसलेटर (ग्रुप ‘बी’ नॉन-गजेटेड) के 283 रिक्त पदों को भरने के लिए पात्र और इच्छुक भारतीय नागरिकों से ऑनलाइन आवेदन आमंत्रित किए हैं।

The application-cum-registration process towards the same started on June 29, 2020 and closes on July 25, 2020 by 11:30 pm with July 27, 2020 as the last date for paying the application fee by 11:30 pm. SSC JHT Recruitment 2020 Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality/ Citizenship: A candidate must be either:
  • A citizen of India, or
  • A subject of Nepal, or
  • A subject of Bhutan, or
  • A Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
  • Provided that a candidate belonging to categories 4.2 to 4.5 above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
  • A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the Examination but the offer of appointment will be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India.

Age Criteria

  • 18 to 30 years as on 01st January 2021 i.e. candidates born not before 02nd January 1991 and not later than 01st January 2003 are eligible to apply.
  • Permissible relaxation of Upper age limit prescribed under para-5.1 above and Category codes for claiming age relaxation will be as follows
  • SC/ ST – 5 years
  • OBC – 3 years
  • PwD – 10 years
  • PwD + OBC – 13 years
  • PwD + SC/ST – 15 years
  • Ex-Servicemen – 03 years after deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age as on the closing date for receipt of application

  • Master’s degree of a recognized University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; or
  • Master’s degree of a recognized University in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; or
  • Master’s degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of a examination at the degree level; or
  • Master’s degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; or
  • Master’s Degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level and Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa or two years‟ experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central or State Government Office, including Government of India Undertaking.   • Applicants will be shortlisted on the basis of their performance in Paper-I & Paper-II of the examination only
  • Allocation of candidates will be made to User Departments depending upon their merit position and the option exercised by them.

SSC JHT 2020 Exam Pattern

  • SSC Junior Hindi Translator (JHT) Exam is conducted in both Hindi and English since checking the command of the candidate over their English and the Hindi language is the main criteria for this exam.

SSC JHT Salary/Pay Scale

  • Junior Translator in Central Secretariat Official Language Service (CSOLS) – Level-6 (Rs. 35400- 112400)
  • Junior Translator in M/o Railways (Railway Board) – Level-6 (Rs. 35400- 112400)
  • Junior Translator in Armed Forces Headquarters (AFHQ) – Level-6 (Rs. 35400- 112400)
  • Junior Translator (JT)/Junior Hindi Translator (JHT) in subordinate offices who have adopted Model RRs of DoP&T for JT/ JHT – Level-6 (Rs. 35400- 112400)
  • Senior Hindi Translator in various Central Government Ministries/ Departments/ Offices – Level-7 (Rs. 44900- 142400)

Application Fee

  • Payable fee for SSC JHT Application is Rs. 100/-
  • Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with disability (PwD) and Ex-Servicemen (ESM) eligible for reservation are exempted from fee payment
  • BHIM UPI, Net Banking or by using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit card or in cash at SBI Branches by generating SBI Challan are modes of fee payment.

How to Apply?

  • Applications are required to be submitted in online mode only at the official website of SSC Headquarters i.e. https://ssc.nic.in. For detailed instructions, please refer to Annexure-III and Annexure-IV of this Notice.
  • Applicants are advised in their own interest to submit online applications much before the closing date and not to wait till the last date to avoid the possibility of disconnection/ inability or failure to login to the SSC website on account of heavy load on the website during the closing days.
  • The Commission does not accept any responsibility for the applicants not being able to submit their applications within the last date on account of the aforesaid reasons or for any other reason beyond the control of the Commission.
  • Admission Certificates for the Examination will be uploaded on the website of the concerned Regional/ Sub-Regional Office of the Commission. Admission Certificate will not be issued by post for any stage of examination
  • Applicants are therefore advised to regularly visit the websites of the Commission Headquarters (i.e. https://ssc.nic.in) and concerned Regional/ Sub-Regional office of the Commission under whose jurisdiction the examination centres opted by the candidate are located for updates and information about the examination.

Admit Card

  • SSC will release the JHT Translator Admit Card after the application process is over. The expected date is generally 10-15 days before the exam date, which means the tentative date could be towards the end of September 2020.

Result

  • SSC JHT Result will be released after a month of SSC JHT Exam.
  • Minimum qualifying marks in SSC JHT Paper-I and Paper-II are as follows:
  • UR: 30%
  • OBC/ EWS: 25%
  • All other categories: 20%
  • Tentative Answer Keys will be released on the Commission’s website after the Examination
  • Applicants may go through the Answer Keys and submit representations, if any within the time limit given by the Commission through on-line modality only, on payment of Rs.100/- per question.
